Welcome to Equal Measures 2030’s Gender Advocates Data Hub: the go-to resource for data, visualizations and impact stories showcasing data-driven advocacy on gender equality issues across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Explore the state of gender equality across 129 countries covering 95% of the world’s girls and women through our 2019 SDG Gender Index.
Our 2019 SDG Gender Index is the most comprehensive tool to measure the state of gender equality aligned to 14 of the 17 SDGs. It covers 129 countries in five regions and 51 issues ranging from health, gender-based violence, climate change, decent work and others. In our 2019 Global Report we analyse the new index findings in detail.
Here, on the Gender Advocates Data Hub, you can explore data visualizations, compare country performances across regions, explore the SDGs based on thematic areas of interest, and read about the girls and women who are using data to drive action in their communities.
In 2019, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) conducted an audit of the EM2030 SDG Gender Index in order to ensure the transparency and reliability of the index. The audit focuses on two main issues in the index: the conception and statistical coherence of the framework (hierarchical structure of indicators); and the impact of modelling assumptions on the index rankings.
